Watching this really well done Dakar highlights package reminded me of how far the media landscape has changed – especially amongst the current insurrection crisis. Back in 2006, the ASO did not allow the teams to ‘broadcast’ themselves. Every aspect of producing a video of the Dakar Rally back in those days was unheard of for a team. Who’s the biggest name on this list today? The annual NASCAR projections on it’s rising stars. Shot on Canon 60d mostly with 70-200 2.8 IS while chasing around the then know NASCAR K&N Pro East and West Series.
In just three weeks, three race cars were built. Here’s the timelapse. Doing time-lapses over extended periods of time can be challenging. One solution I’ve found is through old android phones using the ipwebcam app. If the phone has connectivity you can upload images as they are taken to a dropbox. It’s worthwhile to get the paid version.
